Have you seen a white stork somewhere in the UK? We would love to hear about it. Your information could provide extremely useful date for the project.
We have given all our birds specially designed blue plastic rings, each with a unique code – as shown in the photo. Collecting sightings of individuals, recognised by their tags, will help us understand more about the storks’ movements year-round, including on their long migration across Europe as far as Africa.

Where our storks have been spotted
Ring sightings from 2025–2026 show White Storks travelling well beyond their core breeding areas, with records stretching across southern Britain and into continental Europe. These sightings help build a clearer picture of how the birds are moving, exploring new areas and establishing their place in the wider landscape.
